5 days until the Triathlon!

Well..... "the hay is in the barn" as they say.  Only 5 days left until the triathlon.  I'll be mostly resting this week, with only a few short workouts leading up to the big race this Saturday!  I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of nervous..... but I've done all I can do in the way of training at this point.  It's go time!

Below is a map of the 440 yard swim, 15 mile bike ride and 3.5 mile run we'll be doing at the Sunset Beach area of  Sammamish State Park in Issaquah this Saturday, June 1st.  If you'd like to come cheer us on, the race starts at 7am.  Steve is shooting to cross the finish line in 2 hours. I'm shooting for 2.5 hours.

Someone once said, "Whether you think you can, or think you can't - you're right!"

Well..... I THINK I CAN! I THINK I CAN!!!!

May Day

Happy May Day!  It's a celebration of Spring... and perfectly fitting that there are beautiful blue skies in Seattle today.

Remember when you used to make May Day baskets of flowers and leave them on the doorsteps of your friends and neighbors?  Well, here is my virtual May Day Basket for you!

Warm wishes to you and yours for the beginning of a lovely Spring!

Molly's 5 Months Old

Dear "Molly"... "Molly-kins"... "Molecule"... "Molly-Moon"... or just simply "Girl":

Oh, how we love you so.  You are 5 months old now and you have been an official part of the Johnson clan for 4 months.  You weigh almost 50 lbs and the Vet says you will likely be 80-90 lbs when you are full grown.  Good! The Johnson's are big!

You are one silly pup, but you are also very smart.  You can sit and lay down, and you can stay, even when those tasty treats are tempting you only a few short steps away.  You've learned to wait by the door when you need to go out, and you've learned that you get to go out (even when you don't have to potty) when you sit by the door and whine (clever girl, but we are on to you).  You love to play with other dogs, especially your friend Rupert the English chocolate lab at Steve's work.  You go to work with Steve every day, which means you get to go on extended car rides to his current job site in Bonney Lake often.  He really appreciates your company on those long drives.

You warm my heart every evening when I come home from work and you leap up to greet me, like its been 10 years since you've seen me and not 10 hours (from one easily excitable girl to another, I thank you for that).  And when you are finally all tuckered out for the day and ready for a nap, you keep my feet warm by nestling down right on top of them. You can be a great cuddler when you want to be.

Molly, we are so happy we made you a part of our family.  There is a reason they call your kind "man's best friend." Here's a look back at your time with us so far......
