Happy St. Patrick's Day (Belated)

We had so much fun running in the St. Patrick's Day Dash and celebrating yesterday that I didn't have a chance to get on here and wish you all a very Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This was Steve's first year "dashing" and we had a blast.  Appears our training is paying off too, as we both ran the 3.65 miles in 34:10, with a 8:56 average pace.  My personal best time!!

Here are some pics of our green-filled day day:

Doppelgänger

In fiction and folklore, a doppelgänger (German for a "double goer") is a paranormal double of a living person.  It's common slang now for someone who looks exactly like you or someone else you know.

For fun, people try and figure out who their celebrity doppelgängers might be.  For example, I've been told before that Tiffany Amber Thiessen could be my celebrity doppelgänger.  I won't complain about that, but I don't really see it myself. I've also heard Lynda Carter, which I much prefer given my love for Wonder Woman, but that too seems like a stretch..... maybe I just don't have a doppelgänger.

Or do I?  Recently a friend of mine sent me this picture of a little girl who is the face of March on his school district's calendar.  It was like looking in the mirror (25 years ago, but still).  Who does this little girl look like? ???

I was even the Cat in the Hat for Halloween this year!!! Spooky!

So, as it turns out, I have a little mini-me doppelgänger running around out there somewhere.  How about that?!

Triathlon Update

The hubs and I are just 90 days shy of our first Triathlon on June 1st (85 days to be exact!!!), and our workouts are in full gear.  We are getting to the gym regularly to get our race distances in (run - 3.5 miles, bike - 15 miles, swim - 500 yds).  I can't wait for it to get nice so we can take these workouts outside.

I'm finally hitting my stride with the run and bike, but continue to struggle most with the swim. Steve is an excellent swimmer and has been helping me a lot.  But, sometimes I just feel like the little guy below (only in the pool) trying really hard, looking silly and getting nowhere... meanwhile Steve (the big dog) is making it look easy.  I'm keeping at it though... maybe I should start listening to 'Eye of the Tiger' while I swim?
